Inductive sensors with IO-Link can be used as switching sensors with an adjustable switching point or measuring systems with a measured value transmitted via IO-Link. The output signal can be parameterised in a variety of ways, the sensor can be set as a normally closed or normally open contact and its polarity as PNP or NPN switching. This enables a reduction in the number of variants and lowers storage costs.
Thanks to the very high precision, even the smallest changes in distance can be detected. A warning signal can be emitted if the target leaves the set detection range or comes too close to the sensor surface. This makes it possible, for example, to monitor spindle run-out or to detect the tension of a saw blade. This generation of inductive sensors allows the use of just one sensor for three different areas of application. Whether in factory automation, in applications with coolants and lubricants or in mobile applications - this ifm technology platform is particularly impressive due to its universal and durable usability combined with high performance, temperature stability and increased switching distances.
Maximum reliability is guaranteed by the wide temperature range of -40...85 °C and the protection classes IP 65, IP 66, IP 67, IP 68 and IP 69K. All data acquired can be transmitted and recorded via IO-Link.
