AS-Interface repeaters extend the cable by 100 to 200 metres and enable an independent power supply for the bus segments through galvanic isolation. This reduces the voltage drop and increases the total current available for the 62 possible participants. The new ifm repeater in the SmartLine housing works reliably in an extended temperature range of -25 to 70 °C. Thanks to large power reserves, the service life is extended, which saves time and money. An integrated passive bus termination is also new.
