The AS-i gateways with PLC function control the data exchange to the sensor/actuator level and communicate quickly with the control level. They serve as a decentralised controller or gateway to fieldbuses such as EtherNet/IP and PROFINET. The device contains two controllers: one for safety-related applications and a standard PLC. Both communicate with each other and enable complete system control, including safety functions, with just one master. The fail-safe PLC is certified for applications up to SIL 3, PL e and has safe inputs/outputs. Diagnostic functions, status displays and an error memory with time stamp make troubleshooting easier. A colour display shows the status of all AS-i slaves and the sensor data can be visualised via a web server. The PLC can be easily programmed with CODESYS.
