The farms Labrunier and São Marcelo began operations in Brazil in the mid-80s, with investments in the agricultural sector.
The favorable climate and great business opportunities offered by the country motivated the purchase of a cattle farm in the State of Mato Grosso, and one in Bahia to produce grapes.
Soon, the high quality of the products earned the domestic and foreign markets.
With the increased demand, the JD Group acquired other farms for livestock, also in Mato Grosso, and to cultivate grapes, located in Vale do São Francisco, in the cities of Casa Nova and Juazeiro (BA), Petrolina and Lagoa Grande (PE).
The JD Group uses the latest technology both for fruit production and for livestock. The company pioneered the introduction of bovine traceability in the early 1990s, and organic farming on a commercial level. All production and commercial practices are combined with ethics, environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
