With the end of World War II in 1945, a climate of optimism and hope spread across the world. In Brazil, there was also a favorable scenario for growth in the distribution of the Bible.

That is when there is the Sociedade Biblica do Brasil (SBB) (Bible Society of Brazil), an entity created by prominent Christian leaders. With the slogan "Give the Bible to the Motherland", the Sociedade Biblica do Brasil (SBB) is founded on June 10, 1948, in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, assumes the translation activities, production and distribution of the Bible throughout the Brazilian territory.

Sociedade Biblica do Brasil (SBB) is a national organization, which is part of the United Bible Societies (SBU), a global alliance of organizations, whose foundation dates back to the nineteenth century and which was created in order to facilitate the translation process, producing and distributing the Holy Scriptures through strategies of cooperation. The SBU gather 145 Bible Societies, active in over 200 countries and territories, which are guided by the mission to promote the greatest possible distribution of Bibles in a language people can understand and at a price they can afford.

Besides the work in the translation and publication of Bibles, Sociedade Biblica do Brasil (SBB) stands for his performance in the field of social action. Since 1962, when he inaugurated the boat in the Amazon Light to provide spiritual and social to the riverside, Sociedade Biblica do Brasil (SBB) has developed numerous social programs that cater to different segments of the population such as students, Indians, prisoners, sick and blind.
