The implementation of the Brazilian Nuclear Program showed how much the support of a capable engineering company, for nuclear electrical power generation was necessary as well as the support of a capable company having product engineering and manufacturing processes for heavy components. Decree 76805 of December 16th, 1975 authorized the incorporation of Nuclebrás Equipamentos Pesados S.A. – NUCLEP.

With the knowledge gained through the development of the Brazilian Nuclear Program, possessing a respectable level of sophisticated technology, according to international quality and excellence standards, NUCLEP is at the forefront of the production of heavy components for nuclear-electrical plants, meeting the requirements to enable the country with the generation of nuclear power, placing this kind of power at the disposal of the nation's economic, scientific and technological development, as well as currently serving society's demands and future requirements for the production of others sophisticated equipments for the oil industry, petrochemical, chemical, steel, shipbuilding, mining, cellulose and paper, among others.
