A Gelius
In the past, in the mid-60s/70s, the patriarch Alcides Gelio started the São José workshop, specialized in renovations of wooden carts, soon moving on to wooden bodies for trucks. However, in 1976, Mr. Alcides died, thus interrupting a prosperous business and dream of the family.
After 8 years, in 1984, his wife Aparecida Benvindo Gelio and his eldest son, Valdecir Antônio Gelio, resumed their old dream and founded Gelius Móveis, manufacturing beds and dressing tables, with the aim of bringing beauty and practicality in furniture to countless families.
The other two sons, Sergio Gelio and Marcos Rogerio do Nascimento, came a little later to add and add efforts to the business. With unbridled dedication and impetuous effort, the company had an exponential growth, requiring in 2001 the construction of a new space to meet the demands and expectations of the market and the company itself. In 2018, Dona Aparecida passed away, but the children continued to honor the family's legacy, built for years.
Currently, there are more than 35,000 m² of manufacturing space, which allows a monthly production of 60 thousand products. Around 400 employees work in the manufacture of a portfolio with more than 300 items, serving more than 4 thousand customers in Brazil, in addition to exporting products to other countries.
Today, the company is managed by his three children, a source of pride for the entire Gelio family.
