CBCO is an institution formed by specialists and dedicated and skilled employees who use what is most modern in ophthalmologic technology to meet their patients’ needs with competence and efficiency.

The ophthalmology practiced in Brazil is of excellent standard. With its meteoric development, there is a “first world” trend of its division into sub-specialties. Specifically in Goiania, where high standard of medicine has been practice compared to the older traditional centers such as Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte; we decided to deploy the first time in the country a service in the “first world”, dedicated to sub-specialties, with a common bond between them, thus CBCO was created. This ideal has become one of the philosophical pillars of the new institution.

Within this philosophy was designed the building to house the venture. It was done in an underground amphitheater that includes the most modern audiovisual resources, including taking direct connection with the surgical center communicating the audience of doctors and surgeons who are operating, thus enabling the demonstration of new surgical techniques (interactive surgery). In the ground floor was installed a central computer which provides support to 80 terminals.

Thus whole structure is completely computerized, including diagnosis of exclusion. This diagnostic system provides the doctor or medical attendant the findings, which are being cataloged reaching the end of the consultation with one, two or at most three probable diagnoses. Additionally we have a completely computerized management system such as accounting, inventory, maintenance, cost center, hospital and surgical center. The office is located in strategic area of the building and is connected to all departments and ordinance, which in turn is also doing the completely computerized register of patients and the basic questions that are issued directly to the doctor\\\\s surgery, via communication network in place.

Also in the ground floor, was installed in the ophthalmodiagnostic center where there are latest-generation devices such as video-scanned by indocyanine green angiography (first in the country), the fluorescent retinography digitized, the Electrophysiology (Eletroretinogram, visual evoked potential and Electro-oculogram), through which also installed in Brazil eletroretinografia a pioneering study of the macular region (central part of vision). Recently we placed into operation the largest advance diagnosis for diseases vitro-retinal that is the Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (ophthalmoscopy by scanning), where patients not dilated can be examined in a unique manner, precise and incomparable to any other similar equipment.

With this, a large number of diseases which passed unnoticed are now diagnosed with some ease. Also in the ophthalmodiagnostic rely on the ultrasound integrated digital network computing, Ultrasound Biomicroscope (UBM), Perimetry Computer, Paquimetria optics and computerized, computed corneal topography, and Microscopy Speculating Ecobiometria. Also in the ground floor are carried out with laser rays surgeries where patients have-YAG laser therapy to rupture of the posterior capsule (cataract tertiary), laser diode for special treatment of vascular diseases with a layer of the eye called choroidal and solid-state laser that Routine is used in various diseases of the retina such as diabetes and others.

The clinical staff in turn account also with six former fellows of the American services of sub-specialties. Our sub-specialists are integrated by a single tab of conduct guided by the main goal to improve scientific performance and technical-scientific mandatory within each sub-specialty.

The clinical staff has a hospital in the 4th. floor of the building. It is one of the best assembled in the city of Goiania and one of the best in Brazil. The hospital was built obeying all laws of the World Health Organization including the size of the rooms, thermal insulation, sound insulation, the insulation of electrical discharges, the positioning of power points and sockets, the central sterilization system and PA environment. What is most important above all the equipment was purchased for the implementation of eye micro-surgery. We have equipment for vitrectomy in all five operating rooms, equipment for faco emulsification of the lens in cataract surgery, the unit for Laser surgery for glaucoma (Endocyclophotocoagulation Endoscopic), excimer laser (corneal photoablation) refractive surgery for (hyperopes, Myopia, Astigmatism and treatment of corneal opacities. The microscopes are all imported from Switzerland and are the mark Haag-Streit and Zeiss, the material Micro-surgery is also completely new and all of it was imported from Europe, Japan and the United States. Thus the doctors of clinical staff feel with complete safety to perform the most complex surgical procedures within the ophthalmology

For added comfort of doctors and patients, was built on the terrace restaurant with a panoramic view, plus a heliport for the care of cases of extreme emergency. The hospital is a pioneer in some surgeries and treatments and for this reason patients, with a general desitation for Brazil have gone to Goiania so that they can benefit from this structure that was mounted in the capital of Goiás
