Asga has its origins in research groups that developed the technologies of optical fiber communications and digital transmission, supported since 1973 by Telebras. Its directors have actively participated in these developments.
It was founded in 1989, aiming to establish in Brazil the manufacture of optoelectronic components, components that transform electrical signals into light, allowing the use of optical fibers.
Located in Paulínia, Asga is a 100\% national company, part of the technology hub of the region of Campinas. They are 5800 square feet of high technology, creating products and services that have become industry standard for the most renowned operators telecommunications. Its name comes from Gallium Arsenide, a semiconductor that served as raw material for the first optoelectronic components manufactured by company.

The company has expanded its product portfolio and market presence. In 2001, opened a subsidiary in Argentina, and in 2003, arrived in Mexico, working in other countries through distributors.
Asga has received repeated recognition as one of the best high-tech companies in Brazil. In 2005, the Asga SA was restructured as a holding company, creating a new venture: Access Asga to act on the market in its traditional area. In the AG was formed in September Industry and Trade Ltd.
