Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene rope is a torque-free 8- and 12-strand single-strand braided rope that is the same size as the size and as strong as all of the above steel grades, making it an excellent wire rope alternative. Occupying only 1/8 of the weight of the wire, it is a safe and effective solution for all marine applications where wires are traditionally used. The combination of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene provides abrasion and tensile fatigue resistance, resulting in excellent abrasion resistance. It is easy to splice and inspect.
