WISE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY has been in the market for 20 years as the only Latin American manufacturer of a line of products called High Speed Communication Analyzers. These equipments are used to assess data and telephone communication parameters and are supplied for nearly all the telephone utility companies and their associates.

WISE products use state-of-the-art technology: Digital Signal Processing, SMD packaging, CPLD devices, etc. They are entirely developed in the company headquarters in Brasilia, Brazil\\s modern capital, by engineers mostly trained at the Technology Faculty of the University of Brasilia (UnB), which has one of the best engineering courses in Brazil.

The mission of WISE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY is to meet the demands of the world-wide telecommunications community, supplying equipments to test high technology data communication links, at competitive prices, with appropriate marketing and engineering support and providing adequate customer service.

The company quality policy is the commitment to develop, manufacture and market low-cost state-of-the-art data communication testing equipment, looking for excellence and continuous improvement of its products and processes, in order to fulfill the needs and expectations of customers and partners.

HISTORY
WISE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY started its activities in Brasília back in May 1988 with the mission of developing and manufacturing testing equipment for the data communication market using Brazilian technology only. There were no Brazilian-produced equipments at the time. At first, the company trained personnel in the telecommunications area (network access equipment, protocols, network design etc).

In 1991, the WISE engineering department became part of the University of Brasilia enterprise incubator center (CDT-UnB), targeting to develop and manufacture testing equipment for telecommunication products and access networks. The first outcome came out in January 1994, when the first equipment developed and manufactured by WISE was released: the SIT-01 (Integrated Testing System).

The equipment, without competitors in Brazil or abroad, was sized as half a VCR and allowed the complete testing of any analogical modem, replacing 15 other devices which should be used to achieve the same purposes.

Two months later, in March 1994, the SIT-02 was released. The new version increased to 17 the number of devices substituted and included two more test sets of up to 512 Kbps. This equipment was widely used by the telecommunication utility companies linked to the Telebrás holding - which was like the Bell holding, before divestiture - , by finantial and educational institutions, mainly to homologate analogical modems.

In the end of 1995 many products were released: the TSW 64K, TSW256K, TSW512K and TSW2M digital communication analyzers and the WP 101, a voice-band analogue parameter generator/measurement system. None of the products had Brazilian competitors.

In 1997 the TSW2MF was released, being the first Brazilian E1 test set supporting frame structure. In that year WISE engineering department grew out of the UnB enterprise incubator center and took part in the project as anassociated. In 1998, the company started manufacturing the TSW2MF+ and the cable tester TUW.

In 2002 the following products were released: the TSW200E1, replacing the TSW2MF+, and the TSW400DSL, an ADLS (ATU-R) communication analyzer. In 2003, the TSW300TIM went into production, a generator and measurer of up to 2 Mhz that allowed the assessment of several distortions of the communication channel. In 2004, the TSW450DSL was released, which is also used to assess ADSL communications and is designed to simulate the central modem (ATU-C).

FACILITIES
WISE TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRY is established in Brasilia/DF and owns a 11000 square feet building in the Bernardo Sayao Industrial Sector, in the nearby Nucleo Bandeirante borough.

It has around 60 employees, of which 30 are engineers holding a graduate degree, working in seven departments: Engineering, System Testing and Services, Sales, Purchasing, Stock, Quality System and Administration.
