Description
LED Lamp
An LED lamp is formed by a set of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This diode, when energized, emits visible light in a relatively long spectrum, through the movement of electrons through a semiconductor material. The emitted light can be in various colors with the combination of gases inside, for example, in the presence of phosphor the emitted light can be red or yellow.
An LED has one of the highest luminous yields, converting between 60% and 80% of the electrical energy used into visible light. Another great advantage of these lamps is that they last about 25 times longer than an incandescent and 3 times longer than a fluorescent, this leads to a service life between 25 and 50 thousand hours. However, an LED lamp does not burn completely, their luminosity decreases, especially from the 25 thousand hours of use. These factors make these lamps quite economical, however the purchase price of them is high, due to the technologies used inside the product. However, this investment is worth it in the long run.
