Port Fenders: They are extremely important elements in port facilities, ensuring adequate protection between the ship and the docking structure. It is commonly manufactured with rubber and may or might not have a front panel, depending on the use. The system is based on the amount of energy generated by the docking of the ship that will use the port facility, which in turn determines the amount of kinetic energy to be absorbed by the defense. It should also be taken into consideration the strength of the reaction it causes, not to cause excessive pressure on the hull of the vessel.
