Description
BENTONITAS FOR MOLDING ARENAS
They are composed of sand and clay, usually bentonite, which provides cohesion and plasticity to the mixture, facilitating its molding and giving it sufficient strength to maintain the shape acquired after removing the molding and while pouring the material Cast. The proportion of bentonites in the mixture vary between 5 and 10 %, and this can be both sodium and calcium, depending on the use to which the mold is intended. Sodium bentonite is used in cast irons of higher temperature than calcium because it is more stable at high temperatures, usually used in steel casting, ductile and malleable iron and to a lesser extent in the range of non-ferrous metals. On the other hand, calcium bentonite facilitates the production of molds with more complicated details and is mainly used in non-ferrous metal casting. Rising raw material costs are forcing foundries to recover as many sand mixtures as possible for reuse, although this generally does not significantly affect bentonite consumption. Recycling is aided by the use of natural sodium bentonites as they have high thermal stability.
BENTONITA TYPE: F30/ F35/F 40 : High-swelling bentonite and high dispersibility suitable for green molding, with high thermal stability, ideal for obtaining casting parts without surface defects, due to its high value of resistance to wet traction in wet
