SPDA is a set of captors, lightning rods, conductors, insulators and grounding, assembled according to project determination, based on standard, and aims to direct electrical loads to grounding, in order to protect the building, equipment and people.

Spda equipment must be in perfect condition for its technical function to be met accordingly.

In residential buildings the NBR-5419 calls for a complete review every five years. With inspection and annual report.

Industrial installations this time shall not exceed 12 months, with measurement of ohmic resistance in the system.

In the event of a civil change in the building cover, or equipment installation, the lightning rod system should be reevaluated and regularized according to the new condition.

If the occurrence of lightning strike occurs in the building, the lightning system should also be reviewed.

Obviously a new maintenance with measurement should occur when irregularity or defect is identified.

SPDA Visual Inspection is a very useful feature that can identify almost all system issues. Any and all abnormalities should be recorded and reparatised as soon as possible.

This inspection can be optimized if binoculars and zoomed digital camera and drone are used.

Visual inspection: Frequency : Every 07 days

Feature required:
Trained personnel to approach energized electrical system, ladder, seat belt, binoculars and camera.

Conditions: Sunny day with few dark clouds in the outside area.

What should be checked:

1. Inspect cable conservation, captor connections, insulators and lightning, observing:

1.1 Porcelain crack, silicone body fissure;

1.2 Ink stain of any kind;

1.3 Electrical leakage stain contamination;

1.4 Oxidation of hardware and connections;

1.5 Poorly installed component;

1.6 Broken component;

1.7 Broken cable, interrupted bar;

1.8 Loose connection;

1.9 Absence of any component;

1.10 Wear.
