MushFood is a functional food composition provided to consumers as a dry (granular) mushroom-based product. This food corroborates with the search for more sustainable diets, such as the Plant Based Diet, which proposes as a food base legumes, fruits, vegetables, grains and other functional foods, so called, because they are rich in bioactive compounds and have their functionality evidenced.
MushFood was developed to be used as an ingredient in the making of other foods or as a functional food supplement, and can be consumed daily, added to meals already prepared. Specifically, MushFood is a food based on Lentinus edodes (Shiitake) and can help individuals who need to nutritionally supplement their diets.
Differential: MushFood stands out, because there is no functional food product based on mushrooms in the national market that, like the present food composition, achieves, cumulatively, the following qualities: a) it is free of animal protein;
b) helps people with hidden hunger or marginal deficiency (problem caused by chronic deficiency of nutrients, especially vitamins B12 and D);
c) may help in people's quality of life, since clinical studies with Shiitake indicated antioxidant activity and immunomodulatory activity;
c) assists in the resolution of physiological problems, especially linked to gastrointestinal functioning, when consumed daily in small portions;
