Description
White powder or granules, with chlorine odor, is a strong oxidizing agent and chlorinating agent, soluble in water, the aqueous solution is weakly acidic, dry products are stored at room temperature for a long time, and the loss of active chlorine is very small. Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) is a compound used as a disinfectant, biocide, industrial deodorant, and detergent. It is present in some of the newer water purification tablets/filters. It is more effective than previously used water disinfectants. The mechanism of action is the release of low concentrations of chlorine at a constant rate.
