Fortune Plastic Metal was forged in Fort Wayne, IN in 1943. Fortune has grown to become one of the largest processors, distributors and managers of scrap metal and secondary metals in North America. We collect, process and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. The company ships more than 5 million gross tons of recycled steel and 1 billion pounds of non-ferrous and stainless steel scrap annually. Our primary collection and processing facilities are concentrated in the Midwest, South and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. But our reach extends throughout North America, using a vast fleet of trucks, containers, rail cars and barges to collect and transport metals. We look forward to continuing to expand OmniSource's footprint, deploying our processing assets to cover new geographic territories, opening new facilities, and making targeted acquisitions. Complementing our company-operated scrap collection sites, we also acquire metals from industrial scrap generators with whom we have established strategic partnerships. We have designed and installed custom metal recycling programs, some of which we manage and operate, for manufacturing companies across the country. Our domestic brokerage and trading operations serve both buyers and sellers of metals, providing the market intelligence and insights needed to optimize transaction value.
