Description
Industrial calcium nitrate is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula Ca(NO₃)₂, generally obtained by the reaction of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) or calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂) with nitric acid (HNO₃). 👉 In its pure form, it is a white, crystalline solid, highly soluble in water. 👉 In liquid solution. Uses of industrial calcium nitrate: Wastewater treatment: reduces odors and controls the formation of sulfides. Concrete industry: used as a setting and hardening accelerator. Explosives: component in the production of explosive emulsions (oxidizing mixture). Metallurgy: in heat treatment baths and as an oxidizing agent. Cooling and refrigeration: in saline solutions for heat absorption.
