Mechanical agitators are equipment designed to promote the agitation and/or mixing of monophase media (liquid medium), biphasic media (liquid medium plus solid or gaseous medium), or even triphasic media (liquid, solid, and gaseous medium), with the ultimate goal of reducing heterogeneities between phases or physical or chemical characteristics, or simply producing movement in a certain phase, usually liquid.
