Description
GLASS : Toughened Glass Insulators are assembled by CST using glass shells imported under exclusive license from Saint Gobain-La Granja of Spain, for Electromechanical Loads of 50 kN. In Distribution Lines, Toughened Glass Insulators for Dead-end Strings provide insulation and mechanical support of cables, in strings attached to cross-arms of concrete or wooden poles, at voltages from 1 kV up to 35 kV.

Glass Suspension Insulators: Disk type insulators, for dead-end strings installed in distribution lines, with a diameter from 102 mm (4") up to 175 mm (7"), and a unit spacing of 140 mm (5 ½") and EML (Electromechanical Load) of 45 kN, with Ball&Socket (BS), Clevis&Eye (CE) and Clevis&Tongue (CT) Couplings, are manufactured according to NBR, ANSI and BS Standards.

PORCELAIN All insulator bodies manufactured from porcelain are meeting the IEC 60672 Standard, Class C110 and C120, through wet processing, from selected raw materials, and its shells are fired in electrical or gas kilns. The insulators in Distribution Lines are installed on cross-arms made of concrete or wooden poles or directly on the poles at voltages from 1 kV up to 35 kV.

Long-Red Insulators Insulators: Long-rod Insulators serve as an alternative option to Disk Insulators, although mounted in a rigid manner, utilizing Clevis-cap and an Eye-pin as End-fittings and working in Dead-end strings; they have as their main advantages the impossibility to puncture in air (solid core), a reduced RIV and a better performance under contamination, at voltages of 15, 25 and 35 kV, with an Electro-mechanical Load (EML) of 45 kN.

Porcelain Suspension Insulators: Suspension Insulators for Dead-end strings form flexible sets made out of 2 units (15 kV), 3 units (25 kV) and 4 units (35 kV), with Clevis&Tongue (CT) and Clevis&Eye (CE) couplings, Electromechanical Load (EML) of 45 kN, diameter from 102 mm (4") up to 175 mm (7"), spacing 140 mm (5 ½") and EML (Electromechanical Load) of 45 kN. They are manufactured according to NBR, ANSI and BS Specifications.

Pin Type Insulators: Pin Type Insulators, for rigid Vertical (or Horizontal) Mounting on Crossarms or directly on the Pole, show a top groove and a side neck for fastening on the overhead cables; they are usually attached to cables with preformed loops. They are available according to NBR, ANSI and BS Standards, for rating voltages from 7,2 kV up to 72,5 kV, brown or gray glazed, with normal or semi-conductive glaze (low RIV), ISO thread of 25 mm (or UNC thread of 1"), UNC ¾ " and 35mm (or UNC 1 3/8 "), for standard steel studs.

Line Post Insulators: Line-posts are a good alternative for Pin type Insulators as they have as additional advantages the impossibility to puncture (solid core), low RIV (Radio-Interference Voltage), a better performance in contaminated areas, higher Cantilever Strength, and shorter fastening studs (¾"UNC, M20 and other threads). They are available according to NBR, ANSI and BS Standards.

Guy Strain Insulators: Guy Strain Insulators are used for insulating Distribution Pole Staying Wires or in Dead-end installations. They are available according to NBR, ANSI or BS Standards, with Tensile Strengths from 18 kN up to 90 kN, with Low-frequency Wet Withstand voltages from 7 kV up to 16 kV, brown or gray glazed.

Special Insulators: Spool type Insulators are used in Horizontal Mounting, inside a Steel Press-bow Hardware fastened to the Pole by threaded Studs, for cable entry in houses and buildings. They are available according to NBR, ANSI and BS Standards, with Tensile Strengths from 9 kN up to 30 kN, at a Rating Voltage of 1.2 kV.
