In Brazil there are strict legislations for the production and safe commercialization of honey, and several producers have accredited certifications that reinforce the guarantee of origin and quality before the consumer market.

The species that best adapts to the Brazilian climate in terms of resistance, production volume and quality is the Africanized bee (Melífera Apis).
