Description
Basically, there are three well-known, clinically important blood Types in cats: A, B, and AB. the distribution of blood types in cats vary by geographic region and breed.
For instance, Type-A is the most common type among most cats, while Type-B is quite common in certain pedigree breeds.
The Type-AB is very rare, there are no universal donors among cats because they naturally have antibodies against the blood group antigen that they lack.
The ability to determine feline blood types is especially important because of the phenomena of neonatal isoerythrolysis and transfusion reactions between previously non-sensitized donors.
