Aquinor – Aquicultura do Nordeste Ltd., originally known as Crusa – Crustáceos do Brasil S.A, a pioneer company in farm raised sea shrimp in Brazil in the 80’s, owns a 900-hectare real estate in the State of Piauí (Fartura Farm). In the property there are 250 hectares of maturation ponds divided into 60 hectares of operating intensive and semi-intensive ponds that have been recently renewed, and 190 hectares of extensive ponds that are going to be reactivated. The farm counts on over 250 hectares of real estate that are appropriate for the future building of maturation ponds, totaling a potential area of 500 hectares of maturation ponds.
Fartura Farm is situated in an estuary region between Ubatuba and Carpina rivers in the city of Cajueiro da Praia in the State of Piauí. The Company headquarters are located in Rio de Janeiro – RJ and counts on an office in the city of Parnaíba – PI.
Special attention was given to the environment during the building and renewal of Fartura Farm. The raising process has not affected the local ecosystem and there are over 300 hectares of preserved swamps.
Aquinor is a modern company with a social concern. Today the Company sponsors 2 primary and secondary schools that are located in the outskirts of Fartura Farm in Piauí.
