Description
Shi Liansheng (1880~1950), a purple sand artist in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Commonly known as "Peng Nian" and "Liansheng", he inherited the ancestral system and lived in Qianluo Village, Chuanbu, Yixing. At the age of ten, he began to learn the skills of making pots, pots, and purple sand miscellaneous parts. Some of the works made by Shi Liansheng are engraved with inscriptions, and the inscription is "Peng Nian", and some works are engraved with "Liansheng", and there is also the phenomenon that "Peng Nian Liansheng" is written in one vessel at the same time. In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, the complete sets of dishes and platters made have great market potential. There are also antique works coming out, or the money of famous artists in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, or no money.
The eggplant gourd pot is created from the eggplant melon as the prototype, the body of the pot is round, a bend of the flow naturally comes out, and the circle handle is decorated with a flying dragon. With a guati as the button as the finishing touch, the fine workmanship is delicate, and the needle is delicate. This pot is comfortable to handle, the water is comfortable, the whole is round and solid, and it is done in one go, revealing the elegant and fresh literati taste.
The inscription on the front of the body of the pot is "stained with silver filaments and wisps, pouring jade liquid and surging", and the reverse side of the pottery is engraved with a picture of folded branches and flowers and leaves, and a full persimmon fruit is depicted. This product has been handed down to this day, the mud color is simple and mellow, the old taste is strong, and the whole vessel is well preserved, so it has a very high collection value.
