Description
Bagasse is a residue from the grinding of sugar cane used as fuel for boilers to produce steam and electricity for all stages of production and providing excess electricity that can be delivered to the National Interconnected System.

Unlike most fuels used in thermal electricity production, which are non-renewable sources, bagasse from sugar cane is a renewable resource (plant origin) and hence the electricity produced from this is considered "clean" and renewable, ie, its production contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gases that cause global warming.
